Carolyn
Dill explained our revised
by laws for officers . Your
officers, president, vice president, secretary and treasurer were elected under
the old by-laws which called for a two year term for Board members.
2010, then is the second year for our officers to serve, and our
President , Gayle Barns and secretary, Sandy Gorman all agreed to continue to
serve out their term of office.
Dan
Jones who was elected treasurer, asked to step down from those duties, and our
bylaws state that if a vacancy occurs, the Board can fill that vacancy by
appointment. So, in November, the
Board appointed Jackie Snailum as Treasurer, to fill
the vacancy for 2010. The board agreed with this appointment.
According
to our revised bylaws, our next election must be held at our last meeting of the
year 2010, and officers elected at that time will now serve a one year term, and
may be elected to second year.
Carolyn
Dill is
setting up a nominating committee for next year election of officers.
If you are interested please let her know. Let her know if you would like
to be on The Travel Club Advisory Committee.

Also, Dan announced that the Travel Club would provide the money for the Oktoberfest band, amounting to $1,000. This gives Food & Beverage the benefit of charging under $10.00 for the upcoming Oktoberfest social.

Three current Travel Club Officers will be relinquishing their 2-year terms, with only the Vice President position remaining for a second year. Gayle Barns has called a meeting of the nominating committee to refer potential officer candidates to the general membership. Voting will take place in late fall.

Lynn also gave a breakdown of several cruises she is offering in 2009: a follow-up Hawaii Golf Cruise in January/February, a late-June Alaska cruise/land tour; and a 10-day New England/Canada Fall Foliage cruise slated for September 16.
Carolyn Dill reported on upcoming Grand Circle trips including the Society Islands in November, Eastern Europe to the Black Sea departing on May 29th, and Ancient Egypt and the Nile River in either April or May 2009; Carolyn has e-mailed those interested in the latter to set a definite departure date.

Our 2008 Oktoberfest will now under the auspices of Heritage Ranch Food & Beverage. The date has already been set for October 4th; the band has been reserved; and we will work closely with Food & Beverage to make the transition as smooth as possible.
Following the general meeting, those in attendance enjoyed the picture CD of the Italy trip, which Charlie Henkle developed, narrowing down an original 3,000-plus pictures to the final 200 photos.
Our next meeting will be on July 3rd at 7:30 p.m. The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 p.m.

Gayle Barns discussed the Legacy Travel all-inclusive trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, May 23-30. Presently, there are 7 couples signed up for the 3, 4, or 7 day trip. All the men going are golfers, so they would like to get more signed up in order to have two foursomes.
